MECC Trust runs a Mobile Van Advice Service that travels across Birmingham to offer free help with benefits, energy bills, and general support. No appointment is needed residents can simply drop by when the van is in their area.

Retrofit 

MECC Trust supports a Retrofit programme to help make homes more energy efficient. This includes improvements like insulation, better heating systems, and reducing energy bills. 

Energy Saving Cafe

MECC Trust runs Energy Cafés across Birmingham to offer free advice on saving energy and reducing bills. The sessions aim to tackle fuel poverty and improve home comfort. 

Household Support fund

Eligible applicants can receive up to £200 to assist with food and energy bills. The fund mainly supports pensioners and those receiving certain benefits. Applications require proof of eligibility and basic financial details.

Get Healthy

MECC Trust’s Get Healthy programme offers free wellbeing walks and social events for older adults in Birmingham. It helps improve physical health, reduce isolation, and build confidence. The sessions run twice a week in local parks.

Budgeting Help

MECC Trust offers free budgeting help to support residents in managing their money better. Advisors provide one-to-one guidance to create budgets and prioritise expenses. The service helps reduce financial stress and improve money management.

Universal Credit

MECC Trust provides free support to help residents apply for and manage Universal Credit. Their advisors assist with applications, form filling, budgeting, and appeals. This service ensures people get the benefits they’re entitled to and manage their finances effectively.

Job Seeking Advice

MECC Trust provides free support for job seekers in Birmingham. They offer advice on job searching, CV writing, and interview preparation. Their service helps residents improve skills and find suitable employment opportunities.
